Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice but Pricey This mat does work. Cons are that is too small and too expensive.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I am very iwith the quality! I am very impressed with the quality of the heated stair treads, but my mistake I need to order the power cord separately and did not....

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worth EVERY penny I had looked at this mat for several years and now I regret waiting. We have an icy issue on a set of granite steps, especially the top landing, due to runoff from our roof. I was always concerned about someone slipping I bought the estate size entrance mat and the the step has been ice free ever since we installed it. We've had snow and ice, with subzero temperatures, but the mat still keeps up. Do note that the entrance mat CANNOT be connected to the stair treads and if you need that configuration, you need a separate controller unit (and potentially extension).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Snow & ice in roof valley Put this on my roof this winter to prevent ice dams in the valleys. Worked great! Buying more for the other valleys. Thermostat kept ice from forming and snow off roof. Yeah. Better than heat tape in valleys.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from thermostat for heated stair maps/ treads I love the heated mats and stair treads however I have had a lot of trouble with the thermostat extension cord for the mats/ treads. For $59 they should be sturdy and reliable and not ever have an issue however I have had many of them fail shortly after putting them into use. I even had one that did not work right from the get go. I have had the heated mats and treads in various place around my home and my business and they are awesome. I have recommended them on many occasions but the controllers have been a bit finicky at times and the thermostats have been downright troublesome.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Outside Stair Mats My blue stone steps only get afternoon sun and tend to ice up. Having invested in new stairs (the old ones' concrete decaying in a pile of sand from years of salt treatment), I wanted something more eco-friendly solution. These heated mats are great for avoiding a dangerous slip-and-fall situation. Easy to put together, test and install. They've worked marvelously so far. Will definitely recommend to friends and family. Only sorry they don't cover the full width of the step and that the connection cables are unsightly (but that's just aesthetics!).

Rated 3 out of 5 by from I wish The product looks good but I have no idea how it works because the catalog information did not make it clear that I needed a 'controller'. Now if I had studied the connector ends of the cables closer, I would have noticed that there would be a problem plugging them into an electric outlet but I honestly thought the fact that this was an essential component might have been mentioned. Thus I had to order this indispensable part, without a discount, and to the tune of an additional $50. I will update this review when the indispensable part arrives and I have a chance to plug the mats in to see if they work.

I have 2 or 3 steps off a deck. Would one mat for the deck and one for the bottom of the stairs, and two stair pads for the steps in between the deck and and landing/ground be best? What should I order?

Asked by: Margus19
Yes, I would order just as the main picture shows .

How much weight can the mats bear without being crushed, e.g. in psi? I want to roll a firewood-filled wheelbarrow over the mats, which I estimate at 25 pounds per square inch. Can the mats handle this?

Asked by: GaryEC
Thank you for your question. We apologize these mats are recommended for foot traffic only.

I am looking for a 15 foot runner, plus 4 stair treads, and a 4X3 mat.  Can you tell me what you can do for this combination?

Asked by: THDNMKO
Thank you for your question. We do carry the 4X3 entry mat and the runners you need. However, the walkway mat is only 5feet long. You can lay 3 of them back to back but, they can not connect to one another.

does the electric heater mat include the controller or does a separate one have to be ordered

we were interested in the electric heater mat for our front porch for 129 but we did not want to have to spend additional money for a controller
Asked by: RaritanBob
If you do not order the controller, you cannot plug the units into the outlet. The catalog description should make that clear but doesn't which I learned the hard way.

Could the entrance mat or the estate entrance mat be connected in series like the walkway mat?

Asked by: JasoninNY
Each Mat comes with its own Control Unit. Each Mat has a male plug only; not a female input. The Treads and Walkway have both male and female plugs and can be connected in series.
