Rated 4 out of 5 by from DON'T WASTE TIME, MAKE A PAPER TEMPLATE TO HANG This was exactly what I was looking for in a wall drying rack. Hanging it was precarious. But after yelling at each other about holding it, leveling, etc, before drilling holes in the wall, my husband decided to make a paper template which proved much better. They don't tell you this. Also, we need to use smaller wall anchors than the ones provided. I don't know how it'll stand up to request use yet , but seems like it will. I like how you can move the bar a few different heights. Others did not have this. It has a pretty small profile and doesn't stick out from the wall too much. After install a couple places were chipped, but it's par for the course.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Looks Good! It looks great. It could be an inch or two wider but I can live with that. When installing it, my husband did not trust the screws provided to hold it in place and replaced them with a sturdier drywall bolt. He also replaced the safety catch ribbon with a sturdier wire. (That ribbon didn't stay in place at all.) But all in all, it looks good and it functions as it should - Helping me utilize the space in my small laundry room.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Just opened and not happy already.... Just bought the double wide drying rack. Started to unbox and noticed that the wood composite was pretty cheap and flimsy. Then I noticed on the side of one of the boards (Piece 1) there is a piece of tape that was painted over. If I remove the tape there is a church of paint missing. If I leave the tape it looks like the paint is chipping off. Really disappointed in the quality right now and hoping there is a resolution ASAP.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Average Quality Product arrived in good condition. Instructions were average, product quality was average. Almost the entire product is particle board. Even though it has stickers that state that it is manufactured in compliance with some clean air regulations, the paint smell is a little strong. It is shipped knocked down, not fully assembled, and makes heavy use of cam pegs, cam locks, and wood pegs in order to assemble. Two small gripes: First, the screws and safety straps meant to keep the swing arms from falling all of the way down are of extremely poor quality. During assembly, I broke the screw heads off the first time, the second time I replaced the screws with some beefier options and shredded the safety straps entirely. As it sits now, I will have to replace the straps, and maybe purchase some new screws and washers. Washers are not provided with the product from the factory and the screws will have a tendency to pull straight through the safety straps. Note that the safety straps are a last resort, and the wood hangers are usually held in place with a metal hoop per side. Second, the screws and wall anchors provided were woefully inadequate. I ended up discarding the included screws and using my own. This item is heavy enough that I suggest drilling your own holes in the frame and screwing it straight into studs. Installing can be performed with one person, but I do not recommend it. As it is rather heavy and awkward, I'd highly suggest using one or two additional people to hold it in place during installation. All that being said, it is a solid product, and if you know what you are buying, and are willing to install it correctly, it won't let you down.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Unfortunate!! I received this item and was excited that it was space saving and overall cute. I removed it from the box and the sadness washed over me. The product was poorly made, it had separation in the corners and cracked on the end. (See photos). It was not damaged in shipping as the box was in great shape and the padding was good. I might expect to see a lesser quality product if the price was not as high as it is. I boxed it back up and sent it back for a refund. I will keep looking!

Can the rack extend all the way to a horizontal position?

Assuming a support is provided on the other side of the rack, would the hinge allow the rack to pivot to a full 90 degrees?
Asked by: zigzaggin
As designed from the factory, the product itself is not designed to pivot to 90 degrees because included metal hoop and supports would not extend far enough. The hinge design itself would permit the rack to swing out to 90 degrees if the product were modified with a different support for the rack.

Describe the Whites: which is the whitest white?

Asked by: Gumper
between the classic white and the soft white the classic white is the whitest. The soft white is more cream.

How far does the rack project from the wall?

My laundry room is a pass through from the garage to the rest of the house. I would like to know how far into the pass through the rack would extend on the first position (aka the most vertical) Also, is it possible to put a hanger on it when it is in the closed position? Thanks!
Asked by: genetwister
My laundry room is also a pass through and these work great for me. I use the second position and don't have any issues.

Width of rack when extended

How wide is the part that extends, not including the base that attaches to the wall? (I have a space that is exactly 23", but molding on the side wall would stop the rack from extending if the rack itself is 23")
Asked by: Renee2
You can open it in three different positions slight, mid, and full range, but it never fully opens to a 90 degree angle.

I am thinking about hanging these above my washer and dryer . However, I will not be able to easily reach the top since they will need to be mounted high. How do these operate? Will I be able to adjust the racks if I can not reach the top?
Asked by: JoniA
depending on how high up you hang this you should be okay. The third bracket lowers the rod so I think it would be reachable.

Does the material look like it could be painted a different color?
Asked by: dlseagle
It really depends on what type of paint it is covered with. If you prime it well and use an oil based paint, it could work. I am thinking it has an oil based paint as delivered since it seems waterproof. Check with a paint store, but I don't think a latex paint would work. Maybe an acrylic would?

Questioning the dimensions on these two racks

If you look at the two racks, #504659 and# 504668, the smaller of the two racks looks wider than the bigger rack, but the dimensions online show that the smaller rack is 23 x 26, while the bigger rack is 30 x 42. In your catalog, the dimensions are different. I really want to order one of these, but I really need to know which dimensions are correct. I think the online catalog is incorrect on the dimensions. Can you help me please?
Asked by: dwing
There are actually 3 size racks in the catalog of this design. I bought the smallest one and it measures 23" wide and 27" high, installed on the wall.
