Portable Evaporative Air Cooler is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 44.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Product failed shortly after warranty expired I bought this product in the summer of 2016 and used it regularly for a few months. It did help with cooling a little compared to a regular fan. I like the fact that it has a timer so you can set it to turn off after a couple of hours. Recently, in October 2017, I used the product during a heat wave and found that the cooling function didn't work. I contacted the company and was advised that the water pump is defective. I give the company props for responding personally to my inquiry. Unfortunately, I learned that, 1) the one-year warranty has been exceeded and, 2) I don't have a receipt needed for warranty service. So, I have the option of buying a new part for $40 and attempting to replace it myself. The overall use of the product was about 6 months. Not impressed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A cooler bonus room Our upstairs bonus room does not stay cool like the rest of the house. So far have just used water to cool the room down. But will freeze the gel packs when we have hotter weather again. It has made the room a lot more comfortable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it!! We bought this for my 19 year old nephew, who is living with us. He is a big kid who runs hotter than the rest of us! We needed a solution to running the AC all day and night - Ta Da - the Evaporative Cooler was the perfect solution! We love it! He keeps it in his room and it does the trick of keeping him cool all day and night - for pennies a day. It is super easy to use and it operates much more like an air conditioner. When you turn it on, cold air blows out. Love it. Thank you so much. We highly recommend this product and are very satisfied.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good addition A nice addition for a hot or warm room. Doesn't actually lower the temperature of the room but feels much cooler since the circulating air is cooled by refrigerated water or ice pack.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sit back and enjoy! I love to add ice on my air cooler. I am pregnant and with this heat especially at night I must have something else cooler to be able to sleep. So this did it for me. Do keep a window open especially if the nights are muggy. Enjoy!!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from It is Cooler with this Cooler! I live in the Southwest where most folks have large built-in evaporative coolers. Our house does not but has never been a problem before lalast season. The bedroom takes direct sun and tends to overheat. This cooler (which can also be used as a fan alone) helps take the edge off. It does not have a large enough reservoir for water so if you are using it continually will have to be refilled often (depending on your climate). Otherwise, I really like it. And, a plus, NO ASSEMBLY REQUIRED. Just take it out of its (nicely packaged) box and plug in, add water.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Poor for Outdoor cooling This product did not cool the air outdoors. It was nothing more than an expensive fan.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from So Cool I live in Hawaii where we seldom need air conditioning but do need a cooling breeze from time to time. This product is the perfect answer to the problem. It is quiet and easy to use. I would recommend this to my friends.

Mildew smell

I bought this unit this summer to use in my master bedroom. It’s worked well but over time there is a constant mildew musty smell. I change the water daily, clean the vents regularly and have washed the basin. However the smell persists. What can I do to prevent or mitigate this?
Asked by: Sooners91
Thanks for your question. There are instructions on page 13 of the instruction manual that describes the steps to cleaning the water tank and water pump. Let us know if you need additional assistance.

How often do you have to change/add water? How long do the ice packs last?

Will it run cool all night or all day on one filling or do you need to keep adding water constantly? How long does the added cooling benefit of the ice packs last? Thanks.
Asked by: HotNJ
We just got it, and live in the high desert Southwest, so I assume more filling than in other places. I put in a gallon about every 4 hours but we don't use it continually--probably 4-6 hours before bedtime. I did not find any benefit from the ice packs as they just seemed to displace the water so I'd have to add more often.

Can this be used outdoors?

I am wondering if this would work/be effective if used outside under a gazebo with netting? Would it cool not being in an enclosed room?
Asked by: Ferreter
I have read the manual which states it can be used carefully outside however I have not used it outside only inside at this time.

HOW NEW IS THIS PRODUCT? WHAT IS THE WARRANTEE?

THERE IS NO REVIEW ON HOW WELL IT WORKS.
Asked by: LILL
I was amazed at how well this unit works that I bought a second one. I only have trouble cleaning the container where the water goes. I have a small build-up of algae that is difficult to get out. I've tried numerous ways to clean it out but due to the fact that you can't take apart the small parts of the container it makes it difficult to get into the small areas to clean. I used vinegar as stated but it only works very little. And I also notice inside the unit a small plastic tubing which the water flows through & that gets a build up of algae also. The only way I can get it out is to wipe it off but I can't get inside the tubing or into the small areas of the unit. Other than that I have no problems. It works great. I am going to eventually try using bleach to see if that will take it out. But it is such a small amount that I don't worry about it at the moment. I will either call the manufacturer for guidance or try that.

Why is my new unit leaking water?

Asked by: Yikes
You may have overfilled it with water. Sometimes I feel a spit of water coming from the fan but I think this is how it puts the water into the air like a humidifier. I don't know where your water is leaking from so it's hard to say. It could be any number of reasons.

shouldn't there be air blowing from the entire fan?

No matter what setting i have it on, there is only air blowing from the top portion of the fan.
Asked by: FanProblems46
There is air blowing from the entire fan. There are two different types of settings on how you want the air flow to come from the fan. One settings allows the air to come in a more direct flow which is called "swing" & the other is a more expanded flow of air from the fan & that is when you shut off the "swing" mode version. You notice this when you are away from the fan & not standing directly in front of it. It has a large spand of airflow you will notice when you are away from the fan but can't really notice it when you are directly in front of it.
