Rated 4.4 out of 5 by 20 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by This is the absolute BEST product I have bought to cool the air in my house! I find this product EXCELLENT! It required very little assembly to get it running--if any. It comes with 2 containers that you are to freeze to use, however, they are not needed to cool off any rooms needing cooling. This cooler is extremely effective in cooling off rooms without these freezer containers. I love it that it is on wheels and can be wheeled from room to room. I can cool off the room needed when needed. It is GREAT! I am so glad I bought it. I believe it compliments the work of the A/C! It gets too cold now! July 30, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Luma Really Works! My husband has Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy (RSD), as well as other medical problems, which keep him confined to bed most of the time. Although the home temp Is kept at 70 degrees (F), he sweats profusely, which keeps the sheets uncomfortably damp, so he doesn't rest well. Since Luma arrived, the room has stayed cooler and he has been able to rest much better. He requested I say he believes his room is intimidated by the machine. When he turns Luma off to go to his recliner in the living room for several hours, the bedroom stays as cool as if Luma were still operating. =) We feel this was, indeed, a very good purchase! Rated 5 out of 5 by Dog loves it! Bought this to help keep my dog cool. He loves to lay in our van that is parked in the garage. This was the answer to the problem of keeping him cool in the hot garage. We just place the cooler next to the open side door and it blows cool air right next to him!!!! Love it, dont have to worry about him getting too hot. thank you for this product! June 5, 2015

Does this portable evap air cooler need to be vented? Do I have to put it by an open window? Is there some vent connection to go to a window? .....or can I just plug in and put anywhere in the room?

What do you do with the ice packs?

Description indicates that ice packs come with this, but the instructions don't say anything about how to use them. One reviewer says he didn't need the ice for it to work. I'm considering purchasing this, but would like to know more about the ice part. Thanks for your help.

Answer:
You can add water to it to aid in cooling. If you do not get the desired result you can add an ice pack to the water tank to help. However, I did not achieve any cooling in the room in which I'm using this product. It is just an over rated fan.

Answer:
It says in the description, I believe that if you want the air from the fan colder, you place the blue 'blocks' in the freezer and then put ONE in one of the sides of the water tank. It is no necessary to plug in and use w/o these cold things. It just makes the air colder. 2 of them come w/ the purchase.

I don't think so. But-- hard for me to tell in Mesa, AZ right now . Summer and the Monsoon storms that come through the town bring a lot of humidity on their own. I have not noticed any added humidity in the home from this purchase.

Answer:
Thank you for your question. Because the Evaporative Air Cooler emits fine water vapor into the air, there may be some increase in humidity.
