Palm-Leaf Ceiling Fan Blades-Set of 5 is rated 3.9 out of 5 by 85.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Looks great! Greatly slows down motor This is exactly what i was looking for and couldn't find anywhere else! The leaves slipped on easily. I was a bit worried about the added weight bit the fan itself is fine. However the fan can't run faster than 20%, which is fine. I just worry I am taxing the motor!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Handsome addition, but... These fan blades look fabulous! You'd never know they are plastic. Even though our fans have 3 speeds and one that usually puts a lot of wind into the room, these blades slow them down substantially and don't put out a lot of breeze.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Use on low speed only My fan's original blades are shorter than the palm leaf blades. The second bar that goes across the palm blades is not supported by the original blades, but it worked for a few years that way on low. If I increased the fan speed to medium, not to mention high, the palm leaves flew through the room. Good thing they were in the bedroom and landed either on the bed or the carpeting. Now the plastic has gotten brittle and the supports have broken. I will look at replacing the entire original blades with palm leaves from a competitor, as the motor of the fan is still working well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great addition to ceiling fan! Put them on the ceiling fan in the bedroom. Easy to put on, did not change the balance of the fan. It moves the air so much more than I expected. Purchased another set for the other bedroom.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Mixed results These are very easy to install and look nice but the plastic is very thin and they seem overpriced for what you get. I'm assuming they're made thin so they don't weigh your fan blades down too much, but after installation my fan still spun a lot slower than without them. I could hardly feel any air movement at all after they were installed. They also weighed one blade down just enough that the blade arm started knocking against the light kit and making noise. I ended up returning them. It was disappointing because they really do look great installed but they don't work very well.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good looking Blades seem to put weight on the fan's motor. Goes slower.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love these covers. I bought two fan that were small, so I thought I'd try fan covers to make them look bigger. The colors are very pretty and made the fans look great! Also very easy to install.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Beachy Look We have been looking for something like this for our condo at the beach. We already had a ceiling fan there and these blades were perfect. They are made of hard plastic but very easy to slide onto the fan blades without having to take everything apart, took 5 minutes. Really the only downfall on these Palm Leaf Ceiling Fan Blades is the price. Would like to purchase two more sets but won't be at this time due to price.

Do the blades slow the speed of the fan?

I read reviews that stated the blades seriously slowed the fan speed even trying on different fans. Have you had this problem often on this product? Thanks.
Asked by: McHugh
Yes, they slowed the fan down significantly. I could hardly feel any air coming from the fan after they were installed.

How plastic do the blades look?

Are they very shiny and cheap looking? Or maybe perhaps they have just a slight sheen like wood stain? I understand the look is moot when the blades are in motion, but with winter coming...
Asked by: GVBV
Since they are plastic and not wood, they don't look exactly like wood, but very nice imitation.

Airspeed

I installed the blade covers but now the fan only stays in one speed, low. I have pulled the chain to adjust the speed but nothing. Any suggestions? Thank you!

Thank you for your question. We apologize, but unfortunately, some fan motors are not powerful enough for use with the Palm Fan Blades.

Installation

The instructions say ""Push the palm fan through both of the brackets while lifting the leading edge up and over the metal holding your existing blade". So it sounds like the palm fan blades are to fit all the way over the existing blade and cover the blade mounting bracket. There is also a notch in the end of the palm fan to fit over the arm connecting the blade to the motor, which seems to confirm this. But, the palm fan blade would have to be bent considerably to fit over the blade bracket, and it does not seem to have sufficient flexibility. I'm afraid it will crack if I try to do this. Any advice or suggestions? Thank You.

I was VERY skeptical of the answer given by the Buying Staff - I was convinced that the blade was going to crack if I tried to force it over the metal blade mounting arm. But, OK - I figured that I'll give it a try. IT WORKED. Blades are now mounted all the way in and the notch in the palm blades is on the blade mounting arm. Looks Great. THANKS!!

I bought the fan blade covers without realizing, my fan has six blades. Is there a way to get an extra blade cover?

Asked by: Deny
Thank you for your question. The Palm-Leaf Ceiling Fan Blades are not sold separately.
