Outdoor Curtain Rod with 2 Posts-White is rated 4.1 out of 5 by 67.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Installed on deck with flanges I used standard 1-1/4" rail flange of galvanized steel bolted to the deck outside of the deck rail. Used Zinsser Bullseye primer to seal, Rustoleum over that. The 1-1/4" is a bit big for the size of the post, so put a cutoff length of plastic pipe in there to take up the extra space (see photos). Right rod is attached to a hook screwed into a painted piece of plastic trim attached to the shingles.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not good in wind. I bought double and single to create a straight line to hide my AC units and shed. I won't adjust to my length so I tried just using one. It's fine, not want I wanted but it won't stay up. the slightest wind and down the entire thing goes! I have this on level pavers. I'll have to anchor it with additional pavers or something. Good idea but not want I wanted.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Design! We had our handeynan bolt this into the concrete; otherwise it tips over when a breeze comes up. Another idea would be to use garden stakes if you want to put it in the grass. Quality product & a great idea for shade & privacy. We placed it in the path of the setting sun so we could eat out on the lake.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good idea, fair performance The idea of this free standing curtain rod is a good one. Unfortunately, if there is wind over 10 miles per hour, hold on to your curtains. It works well on calm days but has blown over numerous times in rather light winds. I think if the bases were heavier the problem would be resolved.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from What a great option!! We love it! We didn't have anything to attach the curtain rods to until we found this. It is great. We are now able to sit out when the sun is blazing. Very well made. Would definitely recommend this item!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good product Did not want to put screws/ holes in my lanai so I decided to buy this outdoor curtain rod in addition to the 2 post and rod. This rod and 1 post fell down a few times so I put some small rocks in a decorative bag to hold it down and I tied the curtains to the post when not in use and on windy days/nights. I would prefer to keep curtains out but I don’t want it to knock over my plants again. Overall it’s pretty nice. I ordered another 2 post and rod but haven’t put it up as of yet. Pretty pricey. I prefer not to put holes in my screened in patio and it’s very easy to put together.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Easily assembled The stand is heavy and should withstand strong winds. Assembly was easy. I was unhappy with the crumbly styrofoam packing, the kind that crumbles into airy pieces and makes a mess.

I want to completely enclose a hot tub, in a square configuration. How many rods/bases and/or add on's would I need to make a complete square? 10'x 10' x 10' x 10'? Thank you.

Asked by: Denver Jenn
That configuration would take two of the 2 pole items (447569) and two of the 1 pole items (447577).

I receive direct morning sun so my living room really heats up during the day. How heavy are these posts and will they withstand strong gusts of wind? I would place the posts and curtains between a glider and the front windows on my front paved patio.

Asked by: Tootsiecookie
At 30Lbs, these are very solid. However, on high wind days, you may want to keep the curtains open.

I need to know if I can buy a center post to support the middle of the rod. Or is it better to just buy the extension, which includes a rod?

Asked by: JanOP
Thank you for your question. Both the single and the double post come with a center rod.

can the top bar be cut?

I see the dimensions are 8-10 ft however the area I need to block is about 5-6 ft wide so can I cut the top bar and set the two poles at a shorter width?
Asked by: MelissaM
It may not be recommended but, YES, it can easily be done! My husband just cut one side of ours down to 62", using his jigsaw, so we could have privacy around our small hot tub. Took him about 3 minutes. Looks great! (He cut both inserts to even lengths.)

Can we drill through the feet of the posts to anchor them to our deck?

Asked by: Pike16
Thank you for your question. You are welcome to try to attach the post to your deck if you like, just remember the item is made out of steel and any changes made to any item can void the warranty.
