Misting Fan is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 10.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Heads Up on Power Surges Think it is a great fan. Quiet and powerful with or without mist. It IS susceptible to power surges. Built in GFI good and needed feature because of misting feature. Trips easily if a fault happens & is easily reset . However, if you live in an area that experiences frequent lightening storms my tip to you is to unplug it from power source unless you have a whole house surge protector or are using on a power bar so equipped. If the GFI fries you're done. You can't get a replacement part (China origin) so your only choice is to forgo the mist, cut off the end of the plug and replace with a heavy duty of your choosing.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from misting fan I returned the fan because it was not really a misting fan but rather a water droplet fan. The supposed mist was more like a light rain fall. It did not meet my expectations.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from As Advertised All seems to be good with this product. I haven't had it long enough to testify as to Durability. It's well made and even comes with a ground fault on the cord.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect I missed out on buying this for the past two years. As an alternative, I purchased a misting tube that we attached to our deck railing. Wasn't happy with it, so when I saw this was available for purchase, I jumped on it immediately. So glad I did! I can adjust the speed of the fan and the water pressure. What a huge difference. Makes it enjoyable to be outside on a hot day and a great compromise as I wait for the pool to be installed!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Overall a Good Misting Fan This is the first year I haven't joined a neighborhood pool, so I wanted to turn my deck into a comfortable place to sunbathe. Because I live in hot, humid Maryland (just outside of DC), I thought that purchasing a misting fan would enable me to do that. I was stuck between this one and the portable evaporative air cooler for $199. I read more negative reviews on the evaporative air cooler than I did on the $169 misting fan, so I opted for the fan. It was easy to assemble (according to my husband, who did that part). The adapting hose line fit perfectly onto the spigot on our deck, so there was no need to purchase an additional garden hose. I used the fan twice this past weekend, when it was almost 90 degrees and humid. Because we had a bit of wind, I did have to turn it up to medium and turn the water on a little higher in order to get the mist to shoot out far enough. (We have a 12x18 deck, and I was at the far end.) It doesn't get too loud when turned up full speed. While the fan oscillates back and forth, it doesn't allow you to angle the fan up or down. I ended up getting a pile of magazines to put underneath the base in the back so that I could angle it down, and once I did that, I felt a steady mist. It made my sunbathing time very comfortable! If I could change anything on it, I would add the up/down adjustment and also a remote control so I could adjust the fan speed without having to get up. Other than that, it does a decent job.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect in hot weather Here in the Panhandle of TX, we have many hot and windy days. Even tho there's always wind, it's not necessarily blowing in the the right direction, so adding a mister to a controlled breeze is an excellent choice for us. Lived in Phoenix for years which gave me the idea to look for something like this. It works great, doesn't use that much water, and makes it lovely to be able to sit outside on the back porch when my spouse is grilling. He loves it too - it keeps the flies away from the food! It came in a very timely fashion, had tracking shipping, and was in perfect shape when taken out of box - was double boxed so no problems. Easy and quick to assemble. Very durable / sturdy. It even came with its own winter cover. Very happy with it and would certainly recommend it.

Outside in rain?

Can this fan be left outside running if raining or not safe? I want to use it in a pet area outdoors but if it rains while I am at work will it ruin the fan or become unsafe?
Asked by: Kchriss
Thank you for your question. The Misting Fan is water resistant and normal rain shouldn't affect it if it is in good condition, but as with any appliance it would be better to bring it in or put a water proof cover on it.
