Rated 5 out of 5 by I had some shrubs freeze last winter that died. I was able to replace them by placing this green ivy screen by my window. It looks so real ! This evergreen ivy screen looks so real that my no one can tell that the ivy is faux. Now we can look out this window which is no longer bare. It is maintenance-free, water-free and looks great! Rated 5 out of 5 by Looks real My home owners association is very particular. So far, no complaints and it performs fantastically!Easy to intstall, provides privacy.looks REAL October 24, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great for concealing utility boxes I had a hideous utility box in front of my house. It was too tall for any of those artificial rocks, plus would look rather odd covered by one of those. I decided to try this Bamboo Privacy screen, since my front yard is basically setup like a Japanese Garden. It worked perfectly!! I just wrapped it around, and it camouflaged it enough to make it blend in, but left enough open for the utility guy to easily check the readings. It's been up for months, withstood rain, wind, blazing heat...I would think snow won't be a problem either. October 24, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by Looks better than I thought. I truly loved the Deluxe Faux Ivy Privacy Screen I bought a couple of months ago. It looks way better than I imagined. The only thing is that I found it a bit pricy in comparison to the area each order covers. I still need at least three more to cover the necessary area but have to wait until I secure the funds. Answer:
I think it would have to be nailed or hooked to the chimney in several places, as the wind catches it. It would have to be wired to the nails or hooks so it wouldn't blow away.

Answer:
Yes if you drill in some hooks to fasten the screen to. I used cable ties (zip ties) to fasten the product to a railing.

Answer:
Yes, it will effectively fool the eye on that type of application. It is like a camouflage net. You will see the brick behind, but mostly your eye will focus on the leaves. But if you hold it up in the air, you can see through it easy enough.

Answer:
Thank you for your question.
This can be attached to brick if you use the correct hardware. The screen will camouflage the brick in the same manner it does on a fence or other structure.

Answer:
The backing of the screen is a dark green heavy-duty plastic netting, and the leaves are "woven" into the netting, in which the squares are 2in x 2in. I suppose you could cut the screen into sections and weave a pole at each end (and maybe one in the middle to stabilize, depending on the new width). Ours is attached with zip ties on a chain-link fence, along the top and sides of the screen. On windy days, the screen billows a little, even though it's well secured to the fence. If the screen is cut and the poles aren't secure, I'd be concerned that the screen would go flying if the wind is strong enough. Hope this helps.

Answer:
Thank you for your questions.
Improvements recommends that the fencing not be cut. All of the foliage is weaved and attached throughout the roll. As far as how many poles you should use depends on what size roll you will be purchasing and where you are installing it. Each sized pole (4' and 5') come in a set of 4 which would generally be sufficient for all the fence height sizes Improvements sells. That would allow approximately 2-1/2' between each pole. We recommend also using item # 423437, Metal Ground Stake for added stability of the poles during installation.

How to use for an 8 foot fence?

Hi,
I have an 8-foot wooden fence around my yard (also behind the pool); looking out from the pool at it, it looks ugly, and I had hoped to cover that section of the fence with your greenery. But I do not see an 8 foot height. Is that available, or is there some way to use it sideways (two four-foot-wide sections turned sideways for example) to attach it to this section of fence? Thanks,
Anne

Answer:
Since the fence is wood, it may be tricky to secure the screen (with lots of nails or clips) to keep in place, especially on a breezy/windy day since air may get trapped between the wood and the screen and it'll "balloon" out. Hope this helps :)

Unfortunately Improvements does not carry a 4' section either. You could try to work with the 3' height sections we carry this would be your only option, however not a perfect fit. Improvements recommends that the screen should not be cut.

Confirm whether it can be cut, please

The description states that this can be cut to fit the size needed, but the STAFF response to the question about cutting says it should not be cut. Which is correct?

My 2nd story master gets full direct sun from just after noon until 6pm. The temperature in the room rises almost immediately despite insulated knockout drapes. Since summer nights stay above 80 by early June, the bricks stay hot all night and continue to heat the room. If I attach these to the brick will it be enough to shade the wall or would I also need shade fabric behind it? HOA won't allow a free standing structure or trellis that can be seen from the street. This seems like it would appear to be ivy growing on the wall and since it would be flush to the wall will be blocked from view by the fireplace that extends out from the wall on the street side of the window. It only needs to be up from late May thru early October.

Answer:
I think the faux trellis would improve your situation just a little. Some of the heat would be absorbed into the green leaves. The trellis works well for us because it helps cut down on visibility of our neighbor's property.

Answer:
Thank you for your question.
Improvements would suggest considering sku # 414717, Pothos Leaf style that has the shade fabric attached already. If you like the Ivy than the 414726, Double Leaf style which provides more shade than the other regular single side Ivy style.
