Rated 5 out of 5 by from Better than I imagined! This item took a while to get, but was well worth the wait. I'm so glad I bought it as it turns out to be even better looking in person and works great. Very easy to assemble too. Recommend this item.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for me. We have been looking for a gate (2) for our front deck but didn't want to mount one and didn't want one of those cheap kids gates. We have only had this a couple week but it looks good and is solid and takes very little to put together. I image if you follow the directions for treating it yearly it will last a long time. I live in the Northeast so the weather will beat on it a little.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Pet gate I've been searching for a quality pet gate that's extra wide & didn't cost a small fortune ... I was pleased to find this one!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Gate for my needs! I needed to "blockade" my front deck so that my three dogs could not get down the stairs - this is perfect - it is attractive, so far it is standing up to the outdoors, I get a lot of sun and wind where I live, and it does the trick. Assembly was so easy, I would recommend this in a heartbeat!! Thanks Improvements, once again you have come through!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love these Gates! These gates are beautiful, functional and have worked great for our two dogs. They are just what we had been searching for and had the right price tag. The only reason I took off points at all was that they do take two hands to adjust the size and they could be knocked over by a forceful pet. Neither of these factors have bothered us.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Sliding Pet Gat Great gate for our front porch. Slides very easily, unless it gets wet and then the wood swells and then its incredibly hard to open. If you are keeping it where it will not get wet, I think its a great gate!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Gate This sliding gate is the perfect separation for our two rooms to keep the dogs on the tile. We searched for months before finding this gate that is the size we need. The width is the only kind of its size we could find and the width between spindles is small enough to not allow the cat or puppy to put their heads through. It looks very stylish and we get many compliments. It was a bit difficult to unwrap from its packaging but I was grateful that it was so well packed and shipped.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Eucalyptus Gate I have a very wide opening on my front porch. I just could not find a gate that was long enough and sturdy enough to keep my dog safe from other dogs. This gate just fits the bill. It slides easily and is not really heavy. I can slide it closed and secure it next to my wall on the porch when it rains. My neighbor saw it and she is going to order one for her porch. Her dog runs away and this gate will keep it on the porch and save her time going to fetch her dog.

How does this work?

Three pictures with a dog in front of the gate. No idea how it works. I have a gate with a door in my hallway to keep my dogs in the kitchen. I have to take it down at Christmas when my daughter-in-law visits as the gate is not wide enough for her to pass through in her wheelchair. Is there some sort of bottom rail? How does it slide? How wide would the opening be when you slide it open?

The 2 end panels are connected to the center panel and slide along it, one in the back & one in the front. All you have to di is attach the feet on the end panels.

What is the measurement from the gate rails to the end of the supporting foot?

I need this to block a cat from from a tiled hallway into a carpeted room. The wall between the two has a 5 " wall depth. So I need the "feet" supporting the gate to be less than 5" on each side of the gate.
Asked by: Midee
The feet alternate in length which may be a problem if I understand your question. One side of the 'foot' is 5 1/2 inches long and the other side is 4 3/4 inches long. The gate design is such that the long and short parts of the foot will be on alternating sides when you view the right and left sides

Has anyone attempted to increase the height of this gate?

We have a 71" wide entry way we need to gate, but our dog is quite tall and will likely be able to jump over this gate.

Is there a locking mechanism once this is slid to the needed width to lock it in place so that a child couldn't slide it open? Thanks.

Asked by: Cheekymom
Nothing the keep the panels from sliding apart, You might be able to install a latch of some kind. Depending on how wide they are spread, a small child probably wouldn't be able to move the panels.
