Dryer Vent Seal is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 25.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Mounting Issue The product is ideally designed to mount to a flat surface. The instructions, for example, do not show it mounting to vinyl siding. I was not able to install it on the 4" vinyl siding on my house so it sits in the garage until perhaps one day when I re-side my house.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Really nice that I don't have to clean the screen very week now. Works great!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Vent My dryer vent was very low to the ground and discharging into the pine straw. The dryer maintenance guy said that was not good - could start a fire. The new vent raises the heat discharge away from the pine straw and appears to work very well. Happy!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good product This is replacing a similar one that was accidentally broken. I assume it will last as the other did for a number of years. My only complaint is that it did not include mounting hardware.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Kings Gate dryer vent The vent arrived right as scheduled, in perfect shape though the box was quite smashed, and was easy to install. The only change I'd like is for it to be made heavier. That said, I'm delighted with the vent.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from New design allows easier cleaning I like that the newer unit comes with a pop-up lid on hinges that allows you to clean the inside of the Vent without having to remove the top like you had to on previous models.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Dryer Vent Quality Has Changed The quality of this item has changed from the last time I purchased a dryer vent seal. This one is not made from as heavy of plasic as the previous one I had purchased from Improvments. I do not believe this one will last very long.

the top of the vent is "locked." I would think it should be adjusted, unlocked, so when the dryer is running, it opens slightly to let the hot air

escape. Is the top not supposed to open when the dryer is on. Thank you for your help. Debi Kumpf
Asked by: dogcat4
Thank you for your question. The top is not open when in use. The dryer heat escapes through the holes on the dryer vent's bottom, as stated in the 'Overview' section above.

Does this have a floating ball inside?

Asked by: UncleJohn
No. The vent has a cap which drops down over the exposed end of a short 90 degree elbow. When the dryer is on, the cap floats on the dryer's exhaust; when the dryer stops, the cap drops down and covers the end of the elbow, sealing out wind, insects and small critters.

will the dryer vent seal fit on step vinyl siding?

Asked by: bohdle
I have installed on my vinyl siding. I would suggest locating so that the top edge is below the step so rain does not get between the siding and vent.

Freezing shuttle in Canadian winter weather?

I live in Canada where the temperature drops below freezing for most of the calendar year. I'm concerned the moist warm air venting from the dryer will freeze the shuttle in either the closed, or open position. Does the dryver vent work in these conditions? Is there any concern that the vent will freeze and stop working?
Asked by: handydandy
Thank you for your question. The Dryer Vent Seal will not freeze in cold weather.

Does this vent collect the dryer lint and if so how do you clean/remove the lint?

My dryer vent is very near my AC condenser and the excess lint that makes in through the vent line is blowing outside on to the condenser. i am looking for something to collect the lint outside my house at the wall.
Asked by: TooMuchLint
Thank you for your question. The Dryer Vent Seal is not a lint collector. The features and benefits of this product are listed in the 'Overview' tab on the page above.
