Door Shield - Pet Scratch Protector is rated 2.8 out of 5 by 13.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Difficult to flatten out I bought this recently and have yet to install it. The product comes rolled up. The plastic is nice and sturdy but it won't flatten after using weights and rolling it the opposite way It will take more hands to put it up

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great so far... .... not what I was expecting. It arrived rolled up in individual boxes. I ordered 5 for wood doors in the house because the cats like to scratch to get into the rooms. I was expecting a little thicker piece of plastic and it rolled up. I went to the local home improvement store and bought two rolls of 3m double sided tape. Put on no problem. Just make sure you cut the plastic to fit your door or else your door won’t close. Also make sure you put enough tape on there so it doesn’t come away from the door. These were installed today so hopefully I’ll be able to update this review after I see them in. It does show a when The light hits it right. Otherwise I’m excited about this item.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Clear window protector Purchased this for my new sliding door. It does the trick. It was not exactly as i expected . It is not adhesive on one side. It is little adhesive squares that are placed strategically. They made this easy to install and are not very noticeable.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Does what it says! I've been searching for this shield forever. I attached this to my glass sliding door. It's seems to do the job. It's the 19th of December 2017 and I put it up less than a week ago. It's thicker than the sticky film I previously used, from someone else, that the dogs shredded. Plus it is amazingly clear, almost invisible; and it's on both sides of the door( they scratch to go out and come in). It would definitely work on a wooden door.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from It melts! Very hot! Not safe for dogs paws! Worst investment ever, I bought this to protect my door from my small dog scratching to come in. By the third day, it literally warped and melted in some spots from the sun, what a waste of money! Also, the plastic gets so hot the dog wouldn't even dare touch it! So it's a heat danger for paws. See below, this was only after a few days of installation!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great protection for doors I bought a Door Shield about 6 years ago, when my daughter brought over her very large dog with very sharp nails. It protects from all her scratching at the door trying to get to my daughter. It is almost invisible on the door except at certain angles where you can see the shine. After 4 years of three dogs jumping on it and the beating of the sun and all the winter weather we have in WI it was time to replace it. Although it still was doing it's job, I wanted a new one. I also bought another one for another door that I just had installed. This is a great product and has really done a great job of protecting my doors, which was a large investment. As long as there are dogs at this house I do not intend to be without one on my doors.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Waste of money This piece of plastic came rolled up, and there is no way of getting it to stick to anything because it just curls up. The only thing that would keep it in place is nails...of course, the whole point is to not mar the surface of the door. We weighted it down on our kitchen table for over a week, with absolutely no change in the curl. Don't waste your time or money unless they figure out how to send it flat.

How is product shipped?

Is the door shield shipped flat or rolled up? If rolled how hard is it to flatten so that it adheres to door properly?

Inside Door Protector

If removing the door shield will it leave bad marks on the door from the tape? Please advise, Thanks so much, Pam Tallarita
Asked by: lapopartist
When I have removed the shield from my door I did not have damage to the door. I was worried about that when I bought my first one. But, all I did was wash the door with soap & water after removing the shield and the door looks brand new.

Is this product approved for the outside door and facing the elements of the four seasons - more so the Midwest COLD WINTER temperature?

Asked by: ShellyMcv
I live in the Milwaukee, WI area and mine has survived our winters and the cold temps for almost 6 years now and it looks the same as when installed, except for some dog scratches. I would rather the few dog scratches that I have be on a removable shield the on my expensive door, which I would not want to replace as often as I could the shield. I think it is a great product and would recommend it to any dog owner or anyone who has to use a door for carrying big bulky things in and out all the time to prevent damage to the door.

Does the plastic show scratch or gouge marks?

I'd like to use this for a metal door (of a soundbooth) to prevent gouge marks in the paint from chairs/wheelchairs going into the soundbooth. Will the plastic show damage?
Asked by: Soundbooth
I have had one on my door between the deck and garage for almost 6 years. It gets scratched, but is not very noticeable but does not have gouges in it. My door underneath looks new. Since you can see the door through the shield I know the door is protected and still looks new. If I were to remove the shield and put my house up for sale the new buyer would never know that I have had a lot of dogs and various pieces of wood, metal, and pool supplies carried in and out the this door for so many years without any damage.

Our shield arrived without the double sided tape - no way to attach it. Can you send us some or should we send it back to you?
