Decorative Splash Block is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 158.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Time will tell I ordered one of the Turtles and one of the Rocky Stream splash blocks. I have only opened the Turtles so far. After reading through the reviews, I saw that most of the negative comments were for the Leaves, and two things were mentioned as problems. The paint coming off and the included paperwork indicating that the splash block could not be used during the winter. So, with that in mind I opened the box with the Turtles splash block carefully, just in case I felt the need to make a return. The first thing I noticed was that, as others have mentioned, the color was not the same as in the photo online. The styrofoam surrounding the block had a window like opening on top and bottom, and I could see some of the block and the plastic in which it was wrapped. At first, it appeared that the entire splash block was black, but then I did notice that the turtles were a little lighter. I cut a small opening in the plastic and removed the piece of paper that came with the block. There was no indication on the paper that the block can only be used during the warmer months. So, either the Leaves block is the only one effected by weather, or because of the complaints, the company has changed the way it constructs the blocks to be more weatherproof, which in turn may explain the difference in color. I do not know. At any rate, I decided that I would go ahead and remove all the packaging and give the Turtles block a good look. It is much darker than the photo online. It's not black, but it is such a dark brown that it is almost black. It doesn't seem as if the color is painted on, but that it is the actual color of the resin. But, that being said, I actually like it, and the sun will fade it over time if it isn't paint, so it will lighten eventually anyway and look even better. The turtles themselves are a subltely lighter shade of bronze. They do stand out against the rest of the block, so they are visible. The block has a solid bottom, with the exception of a small hole about the size that a hole punch would leave in a sheet of paper, I assume it is for drainage. It is now under the downspout, so we'll see how it goes. If it seems as if it isn't holding up over time, I can update my review, but for now I am very pleased with it. I will review the Rocky Stream block separately.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exactly as I envisioned! This is a pretty and simple way to have water run out from the gutter down spout vs. the old flat plastic one I replaced with this one. If you must have something, why not make it attractive and add to the landscape design? Right???

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Decorative backsplash Great quality. Looks authentic. Solid enough to stay in place but light weight enough to move as desired

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solidly Bulit / Good Value I was hesitant to purchase this item at the regular price, thinking it was too expensive for a cheap molded plastic item. After purchasing the item (on sale) I soon realized how wrong I was. This item is very solidly built. Not cheap molded plastic but rather a very solid resin that will last for years even in a four-season environment. In addition to being solidly bulit, the leaf design splash block looks fantastic in the garden. Even at regular price, this item is a good value.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from looks authentic I ordered two of the stone splash blocks as I have a lengthy trail to keep water away from the house. It took quite a bit of ingenuity to figure out how they could be used together. It would be nice if they had some sort of snap or something to hook them together to make them more stable. I elevated one to ride on top of the end of the other and created a little waterfall. It looks nice in the landscape rock, but they are not very stable, especially around children.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Pleasant addition to the yard. This is well made and appears sturdy, probably resistant to all weather conditions. It Is a welcome change from the usual klunky, ugly accordion down spout extenders.

If I set up the splash block (leaves) under the spout as shown, it will run the rain water into the mulch of my garden, causing the mulch to erode. Can you suggest a better setup?

Asked by: Nana202
Thank you for your question. I'm sorry we do not have any suggestions on how to setup the item better.

I know they are approximately 24 inches long, but how wide are they from side to side? And is the width the same at the top part as the bottom? Thanks!!

Asked by: andreat
Look at the description of the items online. Each item is slightly different in width. I'd think that the leaves are definitely wider at the top than at the bottom, but the other two might be more rectangular. Just an educated guess!

Is it safe to put a coat of varnish on the splash block?

Asked by: tugb
I don't see why not, but I'm not an expert. It would likely prolong the life of the product from the elements. It's constructed from resin of some sort.

Can two of these be attached to create a longer block?

I need something that's approximately 40" long. If I bought two of these at 24" can they be attached somehow or work together?
Asked by: needhelpwiththisone
No. I just looked at my block and it would not work. Too bad they don't make longer ones.
