24" Adjustable Railing Planter Box-Set of 2 is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 38.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from When full of soil, plants, and moisture: the pot is a bit heavy for the plastic cross members that go across the railing. Wish they were thicker.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Second Order I ordered this set to replace one in a set I purchased in April 2014. I have used 4 of them each summer on our front porch. At the end of 2017 one of the adjustments broke and I am no longer able to use that one on my railing, but will probably use somewhere on the ground. I think they work very well and considering they are plastic have lasted now going on 4 hot summers in Kansas.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Adjustable Rail Planters I had already bought the 36" planters. This purchase was for 24" planters to complement them. Great product, easily adjust to the rail and looks great!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product I bought several of these from a different company years ago and they have since been discontinued. I was happy when I found them through Improvement and they are beautiful. I have them along our fence and passers by stop to take pictures.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Product specififications inadequate I bought these planters to put on my deck railing which has a slightly curved/beveled top edge. While the width of the railing was appropriate for the adjustable openings on this product, the holder did not sit flat on the railing once I added the dirt (i.e., it was off balance and tipped over) so I had to return the product. To prevent this, the product features should have noted that the product is only designed to fit on flat top, not curved top, railings.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Railing planter Just what I wanted. Perfect for a narrow deck railing. Good quality. We drilled holes in bottom for drainage.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Rail Planters In 2016 I first ordered this planter now in 2017 this is my 2nd time ordering the same planter. The only reason I did not give 5 stars across the board there aren't drainage holes in the box. I had to drill 3 drainage holes across the bottom otherwise the box would hold water rotting the plants out from their roots. Also, I suggest use a few small rocks across the bottom of the box to elevate the potting soil for drainage.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Over-rail Planter Boxes It's hard to tell yet how durable these will be, hanging on my Victorian bannisters. The plastic hanging brackets seem sturdy enough, even after heavy moist soil and plants were added. If it rains heavily, I may have to tip and drain them, as there is no plug in the bottom. I would recommend removable plugs in future models. An additional suggestion would be the option of stick-on blocks that could be placed on the backs of tgese planters, allowing them to be levelled against the rails or wall tgey are mounted or hanging against. Mine are not at all level.

Will these planters adjust to work with a small picket fence?

Asked by: Joey4452
Yes, it should if your fence fits the dimensions. Planter Brackets adjust starting at 1-1/2" up to 4-1/2". Adjusts in 1" increments only.

My patio has a glass railing that has a round metal top. Will these planters fit and be secure on this type of surface?

Asked by: Just curious
These planters do have an adjustable bracket on the bottom for securing the planter onto a railing. However, we recommend testing the item first before placing plants inside.

How do these hold up in high winds?

Asked by: AustinTX
They should be fine.. because of the weight of the planters with soil in them. The planters can also be taken inside if you are concerned about the wind. Last summer was my first year and had no problems through tornado warnings..

Will this planter work on a slanted railing, i.e., like a handicapped railing?
Asked by: Patticat
This will not work as all the soil and water will go to one side.

Can planters be painted?

Asked by: Lovesplants
I'd say you can paint them, but you may have to add an adhesion promoter, it is a flexible plastic material and it can flex. if you decide to paint them buy paint for flexible material. This way the paint wont crack when the plant roots push of the container. but this is my opinion :-)
