3' Christmas Topiary with Lighted Base is rated 2.0 out of 5 by 1.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Cheaply Made/ No Quality Control The specifications say that it is made of glass, which leads you to believe that means the 'panels' that allow the lights to be seen through. They are not. Instead, it is a thin bendable sheet of plastic that is made to blur the lights. 3 of the 4 plastic panels on mine arrived very bent and pushed in,only being glued on 1 side, 2 panels had been permanently creased with a VERY visible horizontal line across. This plastic will NEED to be disposed of, not being able to get the discolored crease out. The piece is completely hollow up inside and the light comes from the string of mini lights which are pulled through the tiny hole in the top which houses a pole that the greenery is attached to. When the light string goes out this would be very difficult to repair /replace; not just in the greenery, but this would also cause the base to lose its appeal. The geenery, is sparse and when you fluff it to cover the 4 inch gap from where the pole stands up from then the top of the 'bush' looks almost flat! The color in person is a matte gold which is brushed to appear antiqued. The material used to make this base is NOT pottery or ceramic. It is a type of fiberous plaster that is stringy on the inside. I know this because the 2 corners on the base arrived broken in several pieces. (The shipping box had NO damage to it though, so why was the product broken?) I think it will be difficult to find a glue which hold together this stringy, fiberous material. I bought this piece hoping that I'd be able to change out the greenery with other arrangements to display for other seasons / year round, but since the topiary bush is permanently attached onto a pole standing in the center, that would make it fairly impossible to remove. Mine arrived with no red berries and only 2 pinecones. I wanted to buy 2, but I am thinking about returning even this one! The box is gigantic, nearly 4 feet tall, and it will be expensive and cumbersome to return and awkward to store. For this price I was really expecting better! Nice concept, but needs improvements, not to mention quality control.
