Shelton 2-Panel Pet Gate-36"H is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 87.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Huge Improvement This gate is a huge improvement over what we had. We had been using one of those cheap kinds that you buy at any discount store, that latches in place. Those were not only ugly, they were also a pain. You either had to unlatch it or step over it. With this gate, it is a very elegant upgrade. It not only looks MUCH better, you simply move one side by folding it in or out to go through. VERY pleased with this purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Texas Dog Gate Although mainly we got this gate to block the stairs from our small dog at night. It works for both our small and large dog. We liked it so well, I am buying another one for use downstairs. Looks like a piece of furniture and it can be moved easily and used anywhere.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from HANDSOME AND STURDY I looked at 100 dog gates and luckily chose this one (as well as the 3 panel 36" gate) for a new Leonberger puppy who at 9 weeks will already weigh 25 pounds. The packaging was superb, they arrived quickly and are very nice looking. They're also very sturdy even without the "feet" although I bought those as well. I'm very glad I chose this quality product!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Much nicer than the white plastic kind Was looking for something to prevent my dog from going upstairs when I'm not home. The stairs are in our living room, so we wanted something more like furniture, not the standard white plastic children's gate that just looked ugly. This is perfect. I gave a 4 for "performance/durability" but I really can't answer that yet. I've only had the gate about a month. But it looks great. I only gave a 4 for value because it's a bit expensive.

I would like a two panel with a door that opens. Is it possible to combine/attach an extra panel with door (397168) with an extra panel (397159)?

Asked by: Lorenzo
I cannot answer your question about adding another panel. However, this is lightweight, and easy to open one side, as if one panel were a door. Although I am disabled, I can easily open one panel in the gate to go through.

Does this only work on open doorways, or will it work where there is an actual door?

I see in the product photo that it appears to be in use in a doorway that does not have a door attached to the frame. Will this work in a doorframe that has a door, since there will only be total clearance on one side of the frame? My dog comes to work with me, and I'd like to be able to keep him contained without have to keep my door shut. I hope this makes sense. Thanks!
Asked by: Pammy1
Yes, this can be used in a doorway with a door. This can be used anywhere as long as the area is not so wide that it couldn't stand with at least the slight angle that is shown in the picture.

Can I put a one-panel door gate in a 2-panel Pet gate?

I don't need a 5-panel gate (would be too big), but would like to have a door like the 5-panel gate has. Can I buy a 2 panel gate and put a door panel in between the two panels?
Asked by: Anonymous
No, I don't see a way to do that.

How wide are the slats on these panels?

Asked by: NewOwner
The space between the slats is 2 3/4 inches. Our very skinny cat can walk through, but just barely.

Can this be attached to item # 379745 and are hinges provided

Asked by: Pickle
Thank you for your question. The 2-Panel Gate is not designed to attach to the 5-Panel Gate. To expand the width of the gate, we recommend using the panel (#6397159) and the door panel (#397168) listed above.
