XL Stainless Compost Crock

Looks good, but.....
This compost pail looks good, but...
First "but...": I am puzzled as to why Improvements doesn't sell replacement filters! The manufacturer does not give any indication where they can be purchased. I went online to try to figure it out, but what is out there is poorly labeled, and I can't for the life of me figure out which filters to purchase.
My second "but...": The lid contains a two part filter. The lid does NOT come apart. I foresee having to fish around and pull out a smelly duo of filters when the time comes to change them.
Third "but....": There IS NO indication of when to actually change the filters.
So, we'll see how this all works out.
I must say, I am disappointed that a company named "Improvements" has not figured out these issues already!

Good solution!
This compost crock is very well made and we're very happy with it. We bought the crock, 3 filters and 3 bags of biodegradeable liners. So far we have found it to completely take care of the compost odor issue as scraps are accumulating prior to being transferred to our outside bin. It was fairly pricey considering how many things we purchased, but it made sense to us to buy plenty of supplies all at once. The only thing I would recommend would be to offer something other than a stainless steel finish; I just think it would be more appealing in the kitchen visually. It could of course just be that we don't really like stainless steel as much. lol Bottom line though is that the compost crock exceeded our expectations and it's turned out to be a great product.

This item has all the requirements
The crock looks nice sitting on the countertop. We are a small family and were afraid food in it for several days would have an odor. There is no odor at all and it is so easy to empty. Good for us and good for the environment. Good quality.

I'd love to get one of these but am concerned about the comment that the lid doesn't come apart for filter changing. Anyone have a remedy or solution for how to change the filters?

Do you have to poke the old dirty filter out of the filter holes on top, or is there a way to open the filter housing?
