XL Stainless Compost Crock is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 5.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from This item has all the requirements The crock looks nice sitting on the countertop. We are a small family and were afraid food in it for several days would have an odor. There is no odor at all and it is so easy to empty. Good for us and good for the environment. Good quality.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good solution! This compost crock is very well made and we're very happy with it. We bought the crock, 3 filters and 3 bags of biodegradeable liners. So far we have found it to completely take care of the compost odor issue as scraps are accumulating prior to being transferred to our outside bin. It was fairly pricey considering how many things we purchased, but it made sense to us to buy plenty of supplies all at once. The only thing I would recommend would be to offer something other than a stainless steel finish; I just think it would be more appealing in the kitchen visually. It could of course just be that we don't really like stainless steel as much. lol Bottom line though is that the compost crock exceeded our expectations and it's turned out to be a great product.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Compost Crock bags The bags are a much easier way of taking out the compost! We do double bag the crock that way if the wt. of the food is too much we can grab both or if the time between changes has been extended and the inner bag is already starting to decompose we can grab both bags.

Do you have to poke the old dirty filter out of the filter holes on top, or is there a way to open the filter housing?

Asked by: vegelover
Thank you for your question. To change the filter, simply remove the old filters out of the opening inside of the top and replace.

Are filters easy to access and change?

I'd love to get one of these but am concerned about the comment that the lid doesn't come apart for filter changing. Anyone have a remedy or solution for how to change the filters?
