Rated 5 out of 5 by from ThermaSheer Insulated Curtains For several years, I have pondered how I could keep the light in my apt. and still seal out the cold during the winter months. These ThermaSheer were the answer. They are good looking and seriously keep out the cold. Thanks I truly am happy with their appearance.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It does what I need. I live on the corner of two well-traveled streets in a house that has no trees close to it. My largest windows face east and west--I get too much sunshine, and lose heat through them in the winter. These ThermaSheer curtains let in plenty of light, help keep out the cold, and yet give me the privacy I need without losing the daylight. They're perfect! These also iron up nicely and look like linen or bamboo. Have had many compliments on them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fabulous - they really do what they say I have bought several pairs over the past year for different rooms in our house and I have consistently been impressed with what a difference they make in keeping rooms warm. They really are sheer, allowing sunlight (whatever little there may be in winter) to come through without compromising insulation. I have read the complaints that they aren't great looking but remember, they are by definition sheers, they are designed to go under another set of curtains. They aren't gorgeous all by themselves but otherwise do an excellent job!

can these be used for french doors?

Asked by: gadnewell
The bottoms are 'side-open hemmed'. You can put a rod through the bottom quite easily.

Do these curtains allow for privacy from the outside in at night when you have a light on?

Asked by: Tita
Thank you for your question. These curtains are light filtering, not light blocking, so they will not provide total privacy.
