These give off great, strong, amber light. The flicker is nice. The appearance of the whole lantern is nice and it seems to be sturdy and good quality. I am always looking for good flickering solar lights, because many are not made well and die in our Arizona sun. So far, so good with these. We shall see how they do over the summer. The three things I don't like are that they don't come with a shepherd's hook, you must unscrew small screws to get to the battery and the candle part has a bit of an odd plasticky look to it. It could look like a more realistic candle. But again, it gives a nice flickering light.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I bought 3 of these lanterns for our outdoor dining. So far it's not warm enough to eat outside so I keep them at sunny window and realized they work very well as night lamps. Pretty bright. They look good in any room.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I've tried several kinds of solar lanterns, and this is the best. I've had it three years already, and it just keeps on performing. It's baked in the Texas heat all summer, hit by the sprinklers, exposed to lots of dust all year, and yet every night it glows bright and warm.
It's the brightest of any solar lantern I've purchased. Recently, I got a different lantern, really liking the pattern on the grill, thinking the light would cast interesting shadows. Nope. The dim little bulb in it casts such a thin point of blue light, you can barely see it, much less the pattern on the lamp. Literally, fireflies are brighter.
So, I'm back here purchasing three more of THESE lanterns to hang around the yard on shepherd's crooks and set on tables. At $30 a pop, they are pretty pricey, but I'm going to suck it up. How much money do we toss away on silly stuff? Might as well put some of it into something that lasts. And the rich amber glow they put out is lovely,
