Rated 5 out of 5 by Gutter Lights They were easy to install and the soft glow at night is really nice. May 12, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great product Nice construction and appearance. Lightens area well where we are using them. September 10, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great for the price - will purchase more We installed these solar lights onto the rain spouts along the back of our patio, and they provide a nice light. We had 2-1/2 days of rain recently, and they stayed lit. (We did not expect them hold a charge this long.) We did purchase a high quality re-chargeable batteries. Will likely purchase more. Rated 5 out of 5 by I can see clearly now... We've only had the solar lights for a couple of weeks. My husband and I were looking for something to light the pathway in our backyard. We first thought of using rope lights but trying to attach it to the house would have been difficult to hang and having a cord hanging down to an outlet would look a little tacky. So we purchased 4 sets of the HSN Improvements Solar Gutter Lights to attach to our rain gutter. My husband found them easy to install ( just don't forget to set them to "on" before climbing down the ladder lol ). We were happy to find the lights are bright enough to use when BBQing at night and they worked even when we had a few cloudy days. The best thing is they look great too!! April 12, 2016

Question? does the switch need to be turned to "On" in order for the Solar Gutter Lights to charge or should it be in the off position while positioned in the sun for enough time to charge? The instructions appear to say turn the switch to On and leave it there?

Answer:
I leave it on, i have solar lights on my patio when the sun is out the lights are no on, this will allow the unit to charge the batteries. when darkness comes the lights should turn on. I've had my first set of patio lights for 6 months and i leave it on the on position while charging, once the night comes around they light up on their own. also have the solar stake lights which i leave on the ON position.

Answer:
I've left my switch in the on position as I want them to come on every evening without having to "turn" them on. I'm not sure if they charge when the switch is in the "off" positon.

Answer:
I leave it permanently on "ON". Lights automatically turn on once it's dark outside. Interior lights don't affect them.

Answer:
Thank you for your question.
Yes, you are correct the switch must be on for the charge. The only time you would use the off position is if you don't want them on.

Answer:
There are 3 LEDs and I don't know how many lumens. Being solar powered LEDs, the lighting is very subtle and no near and bright as shown on this web page. I used 4 lights in a 10' x 10' courtyard and they provide enough light for me to find the lock on my front door even on a moonless night.
