Shade Sail (16'6" triangle) 4.3 5 22 22
big and durable These over sized sails are hard to find. We have 2 of them in our open air restaurant in Key west where shade is a MUST, and winds can routinely reach 20+ mph. They perform marvelously! March 30, 2014
IGreat appearance, quality and fits my needs. Thank you for providing a product I cannot find in any local stores. Thanks for the speedy delivery and exchange policy. November 2, 2013
Terrific easy solution Easy for handyman to install over my deck and I can take down any time I need to. Does great in the wind and definitely lessens the heat. July 16, 2013
sun sail This is the second sun sail we have purchased from you. I think we purchased the first at least 10 years ago. We had a couple of holes in the old one from winter storage and decided to replace it. We found cheaper options but they appeared to be made of different material. We have not been disappointed and are looking forward to many hours under the shade. July 16, 2013

Is it water proof?

I live in an area that has frequent rain. I was wondering if it would shelter from the rain as well as the sun? The product says it will not mildew, but does not say if it is rain proof.

Answer:
HOW CAN IT BE WATERPROOF ?
IT HAS TINY PORES INIT TO LET AIR FLOW THROUGH IT. IT IS RESISTANT TO DELUGES BUT WATER WILL FLOW THROUGH IT. GARDENERS USE IT HERE IN FLORIDA FOR SHADE TO SAVE THEIR PLANTS FROM THE BRUTAL HEAT.

Answer:
Hi Sandy

I would say it is NOT waterproof, but doesn't let too much water through. I live in the Panhandle of FL and love my sun sail. So far it has stood up to the high winds too. I am getting ready to purchase another one.

Answer:
Thank you for your question. The Shade Sail is designed for sun protection but is not waterproof. The woven fabric is "breathable" to allow air to circulate; however this means water may filter through when it rains.

Answer:
I live in the Panhandle of Florida where we get Hurricanes and Tropical Storms and straight-line winds and my sun sail has been amazing. I have had it for two years now and getting ready to purchase another one for our second Pergola. I love them - not only do they keep the sun off of you, but keeps water off too - not water proof, but does an amazing job.

Answer:
Thank you for your question. As long as the shade sails are anchored securely according to the manufacturer’s directions, they should be able to withstand winds of 10-30 MPH.
