Rated 4.2 out of 5 by 5 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by difficult assembly Some assembly required was an understatement The 2 chairs and ottomans took my husband 2 days to assemble July 23, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Quality and Assembly I just received these chairs and completed assembly. They seem good quality and are comfortable to sit in. Can't comment on durability yet. I would recommend getting a lumbar cushion for lower back comfort. Other reviews complain about difficult assemble so here is a Tip. If you have a drill use it to install the screws (some are very long and screwing by hand will be difficult. ). You will need a hex drill bit the same size as the wrench provided. If you don't have one take one of the screws to a hardware store and buy it ($2 ?) or if you have a hacksaw cut the provided wrench in half and use the straight part in you drill. Be careful you don't over tighten and strip the screws with the power of the drill. Drill in most of the way and do the last few turns by hand. I assembled the second chair I bought in about 5 minutes. Enjoy! March 30, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Chair I bought 2 of these chairs. They are made well. My husband and I built the 1st one together. It was fairly simple. The instructions are just OK. Had to re-read steps several times because it just didn't make sense at times. We mostly just followed the picture diagram and figured it out.....that was much easier. The second chair I did on my own. My husband needed to get on a conference call and I didn't want to wait so I did it myself. easy-peasy! (since I knew what I was doing at that point) I am a 47 yr old woman that is pretty handy. If you don't consider yourself handy.....don't even attempt to build these chairs. Ok...so they're built. Super sturdy....have good weight to them. They're big chairs! - wide and deep. I need to get lumbar pillows for the lower back area and then they will be perfectly comfortable for me. I'm 5'4" and have a huge space in the lower back area cuz the chair is so big. My husband @ 6'0' is fine with a lumbar pillow or without. Okay....moving on. The finish: I got the dark brown. It is very nice color, I like it a lot.....however, I can tell by looking at it and feeling it, that it will break down quickly in the elements. I have these chairs outside in direct sunlight all day ( on my driveway) and know the elements (sun and rain) are going to beat the snot out of these chairs. So I polyurethaned these chairs. I used a Satin finish. Put on 2 coats. Basically followed the instruction on the polyurethane can. Each chair took me approx. 1 hour per coat due to all the sides of the slates in the chair. So it went like this: 1 coat polyurethane - wait 4 hours to dry - lightly sand with 220 grit sand paper - 2nd coat polyurethane - let dry overnight - bada-bing - Done! These chairs are a bit on the expensive side, but I have to say, they are VERY WELL made and the style is amazing! To polyurethane my investment they should last for many, many years. April 28, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great chair I bought two of these chairs for my front porch. I picked the espresso color which is really nice. The chair is very comfortable. A cushion isn't needed. May 24, 2016
