The Tansu Step End Table is modeled after the traditional Japanese "Kaidan Tansu", which not only provided much needed storage space in the small dwellings of 18th century Japan, but access to a second story or loft as well. Utilizing the Zen characteristics of simplicity in form and utility in function, this unusual end table features the Tansu step styling for use by a sofa or chair. The Tansu Step End Table includes a hinged door on the top level, open storage in the middle, and a drawer at the bottom.
