According to legend, when St. Francis lived in the city of Gubbio, a fierce wolf preyed on the town's flocks. St. Francis made peace with the wolf who pledged, by putting his paw into the hand of Francis, never to attack any animal or human being again. The townspeople rejoiced and cared for the wolf until he died of old age. This charming statue is crafted of resin with a natural stone finish. 12" x 11-1/2" x 18-1/2" tall. 9-1/2 lbs.
