I spent about a half hour training my Labrador before it started malfuntioning on the floor. It worked in my hand upside down. I could see the red light on the bottom but no sound. It must be the connection.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

It works - if you train your puppy

We bought this for our 4 month old boxer and put it by the sliding door. It took about 4 weeks to train her to use it. 5 months later, she uses it faithfully to let us know it's time. If we ignore her first ring, she insistently rings it over and over to let us know to hurry. Great product.
