Peel & Stick Carpet Tiles-20 Pieces 4.3 5 36 36
Awesome Concept In opening the box of tiles, it appeared that the carpet was a little older than if I had gone directly to a carpet store but I decided to use it anyway because I love this concept. I have 4 small dogs and the ability to replace a single tile vs. an entire piece of carpet is awesome. Will have to see how it wears over time, however. May 9, 2014
Insto-carpet So, almost a year ago we bought the dark brown tiles from Improvements because the local carpet companies could not get the carpet to us soon enough. Luckily this happened, because the Shaw tiles are good quality, and great value (standard shipping got here in 3-4 business days and we saved about $500). Don't forget to look for a 20-30% coupon when you order. Our only complaint is that the dogs leave crumb messes on the carpet (they ALWAYS go to the room with the new carpet) , which take a bit of vacuuming to get out of the grooves of the berber. Solution... new color. Last week, we received the sand color tiles- they're the perfect color neutral for us. The color is not as light as the checkerboard pic online, nor is it as khaki as the sample on the "select color" section. The tiles actually are multi-tonal a combination of the two colors presented online with a small amount of rootbeer-color brown flecks. The crumbs "dissapear", so I can resume my once a week vacuuming (rather than daily). As far as installation, the bulk of the tiles go down quickly and easily. The odd diagonals and some edges take the most of the time because of cutting. Make sure you have good sharp shears or a new razor knife (my husband says: "If you're clumsy, stick with scissors."). Good floor covering I have used these in the past and found them to be very helpful for an uneven floor, or as a quick affordable way to cover a floor. They look really nice for about 5 years, and then start to look worn, but, for the price, you just put down some new ones! They are reasonably priced, and easy to cut for a custom look. If one gets damaged, it is simple to pull up and replace with a new one. There are cheaper versions out there, that look it. These are the sturdy, thick, good looking ones. March 25, 2014
GREAT LOOKING PRODUCT. I've been searching for tiles in this color and thickness. The tiles I used before were to thin and cheap looking. I love these and the texture and thickness is just what I need. Thanks! February 9, 2014

Peel off backing & color samples?

I'm considering purchasing these, but am concerned by all the reviews I read about how difficult the backing is to remove. Do you have any tips or tricks for making this backing easier to remove? Also, is it possible to get color samples?

Answer:
I didn't have any trouble peeling the backing from the tiles. I could see if your eyesight and/or lighting was poor, maybe you'd have a hard time discerning where to peel. Happy carpet-ing

Answer:
Thank you for your questions. To peel the backing off the Peel & Stick Carpet Tiles, start at a corner and pull forward. At this time, we do not offer samples of the Carpet Tiles.

Answer:
I wouldn't put these over existing carpet...they wouldn't stick. I pulled up my old carpet before installation and did a quick sweep and mop. I did two areas, one with hardwood parquet and one with old, uneven concrete. Both rooms turned out fine.

Answer:
They don't appear to damage the hardwood, but depending on how long (years) they stayed on the floor, may require a little elbow grease to get the adhesive off. The adhesive is minimally tacky, like scotch tape.

Answer:
Thank you for your question. If your hardwood floor has a polyurethane finish, the Carpet Tiles should not cause any damage to the wood. However, if the carpet tiles are removed, they may leave some residue.

We recommend a solvent type cleaner, such as Isopropyl alcohol, applied to a clean cloth and applied to the floor for removal of any residue.
Odorless mineral spirits applied to a cloth would also work. Always apply solvent to the cleaning cloth and not directly to the floor.
