Outdoor Curtain Rod with 2 Posts-White is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 54.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for indoor apartment use! I live in an apartment with a new building ready for occupants across the street and I hate the cheesy standard blinds that come in apartments. I want my natural light to come in but also I want some privacy. To get my deposit back, I can't screw a rod into the concrete ceiling nor could I find an extension rod long enough. Ta da! I used the outdoor curtain rods and they work perfectly! I purchased the white rods and they look great in the apartment, with natural-colored curtains to let light in but keep prying eyes out. I know this is designed for outdoor use, but it works very well for apartment-dwellers seeking privacy, too. Well done!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Outdoor curtain rod This contraption was easy to set up, it looks good and is stylish on the patio.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from beautiful privacy These curtain rods are a beautiful addition around my deck with hot tub. I purchased them for the privacy. The base is nice and heavy for stability. Easy assembly. With light sheer curtains, they are very stable in high winds. However, when I added heavier curtains, one did blow over in heavy winds, so I had to secure them to the deck railing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Curtain Rods I wish I could have bought just the rods and not the poles that go to the ground as now I have extras. They work great, the only bad thing is how the rods hook on, one side will be a little lower than the other. The only other thing you need to watch out for once the curtains are hung is the wind. They will blow over in the strong wind. I had a handyman drill holes and screw them into my brick lanai and they are great. Love the look, love the privacy! All the neighbors are raving about how cool they look.

can the top bar be cut?

I see the dimensions are 8-10 ft however the area I need to block is about 5-6 ft wide so can I cut the top bar and set the two poles at a shorter width?
Asked by: MelissaM
It may not be recommended but, YES, it can easily be done! My husband just cut one side of ours down to 62", using his jigsaw, so we could have privacy around our small hot tub. Took him about 3 minutes. Looks great! (He cut both inserts to even lengths.)

Can you attached posts to patio ?

Is there a way to attach the posts to the patio so that the wind/rain/storms don't blow it over?
Asked by: 2Dogslady
I wondered this also, and have some nylon cable ties 50lb weight zip wire ties that I plan to use to zip tie the posts to my patio rails. They come in all colors and lengths and I've used them before as anchors and they work great. Also at the end of the season they can be cut off without hurting the posts and or rails. You can find them at Amazon. Hope that helps.

Live in Florida

Love this idea and want to purchase but will it withstand the strong winds of florida?
Asked by: doogal
See my review and the comment that someone added to it. My experience is that it will not withstand more than the slightest breeze, and mine was on a patio, with a fence not far away on both sides, so it was "partally enclosed," and still kept toppling over.

Making the uprights higher

Can added extension (2 Upper Posts) be purchased to make the units higher? If so are those available separately?
Asked by: Ghud
This item can only be extended out and not up.

Will your grommet curtain panels fit on the outdoor freestanding rod set?

Grommet panels rare described as fitting on a rod "up to 1-1/2 inches diameter. But no diameter of the curtain rod is given.
Asked by: Nancy333
Thank you for your question! The grommet curtain panels in the 84" length do fit the outdoor freestanding rod. For future reference, the diameter is listed under the specifications tab of the product information.
