Mission Style Solar Lantern

These lanterns are perfect.
I bought three lanterns and within ten minutes I had them out of the boxes and out in the sun to charge. I love the warm light they display and also the flickering candle effect that is available. They are sturdy (no worries in the wind) and have a very nice bronze finish. They are still on when I get up in the morning. I am going to order three more very soon.

Limited enjoyment
In December of 2010, I ordered a similar product -- a set of 4 solar pathway lights. As of December 2012, they have quit working ..... completely dead. I do not feel that 2 years equals a quality product. Very disappointed. I will go to a home improvement store for replacements. Based on my experience, ordering this type of product from Improvements would be a mistake.

Nice looking but ...
This solar lantern was just what I was looking for and so I was excited to order 3 of them.The shipment arrived promptly and I was very pleased with the appearance of the lanterns. However I have not set them up as I had hoped to. It is only listed in the set up instructions that the lanterns should not be used in weather conditions under 32 degrees. Since I live in Canada, this means that I am unable to use the lanterns for a good portion of the year. I was hoping to use the lanterns on my front walk throughout the year. I would have returned this product but with shipping and duty costs it was not worth the expense. Please indicate these specifications in your description of the product.

It's Beautiful
I haven't used it so can't comment on how it works, since I plan to give it as a gift to my son and his wife. But I did check it out when it arrived and it is gorgeous! If I had a back yard patio, I would definitely get one or more for myself. The only thing I might question is that it isn't very large, so I might question how much light it is capable of giving off.. but that remains to be seen. I am excited and eager to give it to my son and his family for their back deck.

Where can I get these lanterns repaired? I have two lanterns that the spring mechanism that secure the battery fell off inside of the top. One other
lanters metal lop on top broke off. One morning the lantern was lying on the gro und next to it's shepards hook. I own 10 more of these. They are beautiful and I have made a big investment in acquiring them. Can these be repaired? thank you.

Thank you for your question.Unfortunately these are imported and Improvements does not carry parts for this item such as the lantern tops that house the battery compartments where two of your battery 'springs' became useles due to the springs braking. The lantern top handles(or loop) are not available as parts either. Improvements has not had any prior issues on this item.
The only other two options Improvements can suggest are to 1) purchase new ones or 2) as a helpful hint - if you place a small piece of tin foil under the battery where the spring was located it may make contact and work fine without having to replace the whole item. Thank you.
