Metal Leaves Whirlygig Wind Spinner 2.4 5 8 8
Does not spin When I first opened the Metal Leave spinner I was impressed with the quality of the materials used and it only took a minute to assemble it. But when I placed it outside, it will not spin. I can manually spin it, but the wind does not make is spin. I have other types of spinners and they all spin, not problem. But yours will not spin. I have moved to a number of locations and direction. And still it will not spin. I like it so I will keep it. But I do not recommend it to anyone who is looking for a garden decoration that actually works. May 22, 2014
Pretty to look at but needs improved design Nice to look at but needs a swivel in the horizontal direction to allow for different wind directions. Then it would be more interesting. Also, leaves could be bigger to more easily catch lower air speeds. May 10, 2014
Although very pretty, it does not spin This windspinner is really nice and I love it as a decoration in my courtyard. The downside is that it does not spin, I have checked the assembly and I have it correct. I am keeping it because it is so pretty. May 6, 2014
Invest in a much better one It sure looks nice in the catalog and even taking it out of the well wrapped box BUT it is very cheaply made. You do have to adjust the 'leaves' to allow it to catch the wind. The challenge is the nut that secures the Whirlygig to the shaft; it is hidden in the center and has very poor threads. The first evening it was outside it never turned. We had 15-20 MPH gust and it just sat there, so the next day I followed the directions and (be very carefull) adjusted the leaves to make them fan out and catch more wind. It was still like an out of balanced tire and turned to the heavy side after a spin. Then this week I found the Whirlygig on the ground. After examining it I saw the shaft behind the treads was where it had broken off. There's no way it was worth re-threading the shaft because the nut inside was stripped as well. It now hangs in the tree from a string and I believe the birds chuckle as they watch it try to swing around in the breese. As it's only decorated on one side it probably will not remain in the tree for the summer. May 2, 2014
