This stunning Tansu Step Chest is modeled after the traditional Japanese "Kaidan Tansu", which not only provided much needed storage space in the small dwellings of 18th century Japan, but access to a second story or loft as well. Utilizing the Zen characteristics of simplicity in form and utility in function, this dramatic Tansu Step Chest adds visual interest as well unique storage to your home.

With five drawers and two sliding door compartments, the Tansu Step Chest offers a variety of ways to organize clutter, hide home electronics, or store household items. Plus, the Tansu Step Chest's five "steps" provide unique display space on top for collectibles, photos, and sculptures. Beautifully crafted of poplar and poplar veneers, this Tansu Step Chest has a Burnt Chestnut finish and antiqued metal drawer pulls.
