Cabidor™ Behind Door Storage-Classic

Baffled
I received the Cabidor Behind Door Storage (7 shelf) and was extremely disappointed. The unit seems sturdy however it was damaged. On the solid portion that would face everyone, there was an 8"x 3.5" area that was marred. On the top of the same side, there is also a 3" area of a flawed finish. On the very top portion that has the shelves, there is an indented half inch scar that was painted over. It is as if someone damaged it then painted over it without trying to fill for a smooth the surface. This is just to the point of where I unwrapped it, only half way. Items of this size should be QC'd before shipping; more so since it was on backorder.

De-clutters and makes my life easy!
I added this cabidor to the back of my pantry door to help with the clutter of vitamin and medicine bottles and sunscreens littering my kitchen counter. If I had them on a shelf in the pantry, they were hard to see. Now they are all visible yet invisible! My counter is clean, I know where to look, find and easily access what I need. I love it!
The installation is easier with two people, like they recommend. It adjusts to different sized doors and hinges easily. I had some trouble putting in a couple of the little metal bars that hold things in place because of partially blocked holes so I had to put them in lower or higher, but still fine.

I'm happy
Though I had to wait several weeks for delivery because it was out of stock, I guess, once it arrived it was easy to assemble and I managed without too much trouble to install it by myself. It is useful storage, but the shelves are pretty narrow so it limits what can be stored. I guess it's as large as it can be, hanging on the back of a door. I like that it is mostly out of sight since I chose a door that is rarely closed. It seems sturdy and well made. The online installation video was very helpful.

Door On Door
My pantry is more like a very small recessed closet with a small door width. I installed shelves on the inside of the pantry door for easier access to some goods and purchased the full size Cabidor to put over the existing pantry door itself. It fit perfectly and even the regular pantry door's opening handle conveniently fit inside the Cabidor without being removed. The Cabidor holds all my baking goods & cereals. The pantry door shelves hold glass items and the tiny pantry holds everything else. The Cabidor was easy to install, looks unobtrusive in my hallway and saves me from losing or overlooking items in the small pantry. I like things that work well. :)

The description says "behind the door storage" but the picture shows the item sticking out into the hallway. Can this be set up inside a closet door out of sight?

It uses the door's hinges so depending on how your door is hanging on the frame, it will most likely be on the outside (or visible) side ----just depends how your door operates (swinging in or out) Not sure if this helps!3 months, 3 weeks ago

The cabidor is set up on whatever side of the door the hinges are on. If you choose a door that has the hinges on the inside then it will be out of sight. I have one in my bathroom (on the inside of the door) so no one sees it unless they are using the bathroom.Age: 25-34

The depth of the shelves is about 3.5" and of course the height varies depending on where you place the shelves. All of my medicine bottles and boxes fit adequately. Hope this helps??Age: 55-65
