Thank you for your question regarding the Flood Barriers.

Sunlight affects it the most.
If you want it to degrade quickly- cut the bags open & expose contents directly to sunlight. The inner polymer will start to degrade within a few days, complete degradation will vary, but estimate up to 4 weeks. Depends on environmental conditions.
If you want to make them last, but dry out- keep them outdoors in a dry environment, in the shade. Depends on environmental conditions, humidity, but typically can take up from 2-4 months to dry completely- crunchy- but reactivates again later.
General degradation- over time, they will generally degrade. In New England & Midwest- we see ongoing / repeat activation for 8-12 months. In Florida- it’s about 4-6 months.
