Expandable Faux Ivy Trellis 4.6 5 68 68
ordered 2 more looking for greenery to cover an old wrought iron fence. Not only covered fence but added greenery all along view area from indoor garden room. Got rid of potted plants requiring much care. Added some great Talavera pottery and figurines against the greenery and voila, less upkeep. Very easy to install. Looks real. The wood trellis background adds to the look. How about using indoors on divider and hang artwork. Can get creative with these trellises. ann c. April 1, 2014

What does it look like from the other side.

Im considering purchasing 2 of these to put along a wood gate for privacy in my pool area. The other side of the gate faces the street. So I need to know what it looks like from the other side. If I use the ivy facing the pool then what faces the street. Does someone have a picture.
Thank you

Answer:
If you stretch out the unit to it's fullest, you'll have 60-70% visual reduced coverage. If you want 90-95% visual reduced coverage, then plan to put a layer on each side, inside & out. So possibly double up! Nice device though to work with!

Answer:
Thank you for your question.
The other side shows more of the wood trellis and some of the ivy may poke through in some places where as the facing side you would see more of the ivy and less of the wood trellis. It would not distract or be unattractive for what you choose to apply the trellis to.

How flexible is it?

I would like to buy this to wrap around an ugly telephone pole that is in my garden. Every one who reviewed it seems to be using it on a fence. How flexible is it? Will it wrap a telephone pole?

Thank you for your inquiry and question.
Unfortunately this item is not flexible enough to bend. The substrate is made of willow wood and would definitely break if placed around a circular item.
What may be a better choice is item #'s 363876, Ivy Screen 39"H or 414734 Double Leaves Screen, 39"H. Improvements has other sizes also available which can be used for many useful purposes.

Poles to secure it? Winter hardiness?

I plan to use this trellis to hide two heat pumps. The space is 6/1/2 feet long and 40" high so I would use it horizontally. How do I secure the ivy in the ground? I saw some poles listed with a netted ivy cover but I am not sure if they will work with this trellis.

Also, does anyone leave the trellis out during northern winters? If so, how well did it hold up?

Any information would be appreciated. Thank you.

Answer:
Thank you for your questions.
Improvements recommends that this be secured to a structure like a fence or brick wall with the use of zip ties or wire. If you use it as a stand alone item with poles or stakes it may not last as long. The trellis portion is made of branches and really is more as decorative privacy than used to hid utility units. Improvements carries Resin Woven panels and Wood Panels that would hold up much better for your needed application.

Improvements believes you may asking what do the squares expand to when fully extended? These are 2"X2". This would have to be quite secured to the hand rail in different places as not to leave an opening for your cat to escape.
