because of the design, the water does not drain properly (including all the 'bits' and crumbs that were rinsed off. It is probably the heighth of the item that negates the slope; and, because it does seal well, the water cannot seep under the rim either.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Before this product, I had a sink strainer that would not hold the water if I wanted to soak some of the dishes before washing it. My old one works, but at times, it'll give me problems...so I figure it's time for me to purchase another (hopefully more effective one)... thought this would work. Afterall, there are two compartments to this. According to the picture and description. But so disappointed! The water would NOT stay... if you want to use as a strainer, I guess this would work...but it definitely would not hold any water to soak the dishes.. looks pretty but not at all effective! Guess I'd have to go back to my old one!

THE BEST ITEM ON THE MARKET FINALLY A FAUCET ANS SWIVEL SPRAYER THAT DOES NOT DRIP. I HAVE ORDER MORE FOR ALL MY FAMILY MEMBERS. I AM WONDERING WHY IT TOOK ME SO LONG TO FIND YOUR PRODUCTS. THEY ARE THE BEST.
