Do planter rings and shelf have to be attached to screens?

Can I assemble the screens without having to use the planter rings and shelf?

The area where the scree will be is narrow and there will not be room for any protrusions.

How does it permanently install? where are brackets located?

Can you be more specific in your questions so we can better assist you? If you are referring to the plant brackets these attach at the bottom by the feet underneath the screening and are optional but do give the product a nice finished look.
