Blackout Buddy Emergency Flashlight 2-Pack 4.8 5 63 63
Couldn't be better This is a great product - gives good light for a night light and it does work well when the power goes out. It comes on right away and gives good light at night so you can see to get to it. Then you can use it as a flashlight. This is a much better product than others I have purchased that have these same features. May 4, 2013
This product has great features I purchased these for my friends and family for Christmas 2013. I thought they would be a really useful gift. May 1, 2013
Blackout Buddy Was looking for a low cost, but effective emergency light for our offices. Bought two sets and now plan on going back and buying sets for all 14 offices. Easy to use and effective. April 5, 2013
good value I thought these would be worth it given i got 2 for the price of one. They seem to be solidly built. Pretty bright, even the nitelight. February 26, 2013

Answer:
Yes, it does. Althought, when power stops and it's plugged in, it will light. To stop that, you need to remove it from the electric socket.

Answer:
Earle,

Two buttons on this item. One on the bottom says auto and off. Auto provides you with a night light when it is plugged in plus the flashlight comes on when the power goes off. Off has no night light but comes on ( as a flashlight) when the power goes off. The other button turns the flashlight off when you are using it removed from the wall. I think I got that right. Whew!

Answer:
Yes, this item can be turned off while plugged in so there is no light night. But once the electric goes out and there is no current, the flashlight will come on. It has a power button that will turn the light off completely and a switch to have the night light come on automatically or it can be turned off if switched to the 'off' postition. So it can be used as a night light with an emergency flash light or just a night light, or no light at all. And if you power it completely off it will only light up when the electric goes off. It's very versatile, I highly recommend it! I hope this answered your question!

Answer:
Yes, you can have it on auto or off and the light will only come on if the power goes off. If you take it out of the wall then you can use it as a flashlight and turn it off when not in use.
