Rated 4.5 out of 5 by 10 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Fits the Spot Space where it was wanted would not accommodate a full-size umbrella - this one just fits the spot. June 30, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Perfect for small courtyard area! The lighted half umbrella was exactly what I'd been looking for to add a little shade and some class to our small gated courtyard. The size was perfect for the area and the lighted spines gave a very nice light for evening use. The only disappointment I have is that the shade began to fade almost immediately. The tan/taupe color is now a faded mauve after only a few weeks. I would recommend the company use a more sun resistant fabric or treat prior to sale. October 2, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Love It We have a covered deck but added a small extension last year. This works wonderful at the end of the overhang to keep rain off the new section and part of the ramp. Hoping it will also keep snow off the deck when it blows...as long as it's not to heavy. October 29, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great for awkward areas This is the second one I have purchased. Could not resist the sale price. The first one is under a screened area by the pool and the fabric still looks new after about 4 months. This one will be in a more direct sunlight area so only time will tell if the fabric will fade quicker. (other reviews have said they are not happy with how quickly the fabric fades) At this price, its worth the risk. November 2, 2016

I'm wondering if this half umbrella will fold up in case of bad weather or strong winds.

Answer:
I live along the eastern coast and would not trust any umbrella in bad weather. I have seen the best and strongest umbrella fold in the storms that we get hit with. My suggestion is to always put an umbrella away when a bad storm is approaching.
That being said this is a strong and stable device and I don't rush to pull it when rain is forecasted. I ususally leave it out throughout the entire summer, and only take it for hurricane season.

Answer:
Other than retracting like other umbrellas, this does not fold but the pole is in two pieces so you can remove just the top portion with the canopy and store it out of the weather. I had to do just that for Hurricane Matthew last month.
Hope this helped.

Answer:
Yes, the umbrella is easy to open and close with the crank handle. It is also light enough to remove in bad weather.

Answer:
Thank you for your question.

The umbrella does crank down. We recommend that during bad weather and strong winds that the umbrella be taken down.
