Christmas Crafts for Kids
Christmas time is a great time to get crafting, but sometimes it’s hard to find easy Christmas crafts that you and your little ones can do together – everyone knows it’s more fun to do crafts when you have a little “helper.” Here are a couple of fun Christmas crafts that you can do with toddlers.

Santa Craft

Santa Face Easy Christmas Craft

What you need:

  • A paper plate
  • Red construction paper
  • Skin-toned craft paint
  • A pair of craft googly eyes
  • White glue
  • A bag of cotton balls
  • A red craft pom pom
  • A black marker

This is a great Christmas craft for toddlers! Begin by painting the underneath portion of the plate with the paint. While it dries, cut a triangle hat out of the red construction paper. Glue the bottom of the Santa hat to the top edge of the plate, beginning the formation of Santa’s face and hat. Glue the googly eyes in place and then add a red pom pom for Santa’s nose.

To create Santa’s mustache, pull a cotton ball apart and glue it on. Glue a row of cotton balls all the way around the top edge of the plate (where the plate meets the hat), and around the sides and bottom of the plate to create his beard. Leaving a small opening below his mustache, begin to fill in the bottom portion of the plate with cotton balls to create the remainder of the beard. Add eyebrows or wrinkles with the marker.

Frosty the Snowman Puzzle Craft

Frosty the Snowman Easy Christmas Craft

What you need

  • (5) Large puzzle pieces or 10 small puzzle pieces
  • White craft paint
  • Black construction paper
  • Glue
  • Googly eyes
  • Orange pom pom
  • Small black pom poms (optional)
  • (2) Small red buttons

Paint anywhere between 5 and 10 puzzle pieces with white craft paint (if the pieces are from a large puzzle, I would suggest 5 pieces and 10 pieces for a small puzzle). While they dry, cut out a black top hat shape with craft paper, about the same size as a puzzle piece. For the head of the snowman, glue two different-shaped puzzle pieces together, one on top of the other, staggering them so that you can see both. For the body, glue 3-8 puzzle pieces on top of each other, also staggering them, making the circumference larger than the head.

Attach the snowman’s head to the body with glue and then attach the hat to the top of the head. Make the face of the snowman with googly eyes, an orange pom pom for the nose, and align smaller black pom poms for the mouth. Attach two red buttons to the body. Hang this decoration on a wall, put it in a frame, or just let your child play with it.

Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer Puzzle Craft

What you need

  • (1) Large puzzle piece
  • Brown craft paint
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • Googly eyes
  • Red pom pom
  • Brown pipe cleaner
  • Small gold bell
  • Ribbon

Select a puzzle piece that has 2 male ends (if you can’t find one, you can gather 2 puzzle pieces and glue them together – just make sure you end up with 2 male ends for the ears). Paint the whole puzzle piece with brown craft paint. After the paint has dried, make a face using googly eyes and a red pom pom for the nose. Cut the brown pipe cleaner into 6 small pieces and tie them together to make the antlers. You can either poke a small hole in the top of the puzzle piece and insert the pipe cleaner or you can hot glue them onto the top of his head. Create a loop (for hanging) onto the ribbon and tie it off with a small bow. Glue the bell to the end of the bow and hot glue your ribbon hanger onto the top of the reindeer.
