42" DESK WORK SURFACE
This review is for a "42" desk work surface" which was a very nice product but that's all it is -a countertop basically. It needs to be ordered in addition to a set of cabinets of which there are a number of options. I thought I was ordering a set but I got crossed up some how. This review is offered as a precaution for others to not make the same mistake which I remedied by ordering two ten-drawer cabinets.

assembled as a desk
Very labor intensive to construct but well worth it when assembled. Finish is lovely.Saw no defects. Seems durable and with all the drawers will be exceptionally functional in removing clutter of papers from elsewhere in the home. A good investment.

Cherry Office Desk Cabinets 2
Love the finish .... assembly went smooth esp since some of the drawer slides came preattached ... it looks great as so I purchased a second Desk set for my son Ken for his room.

Great for storage/filing
This is a very sturdy product once assembled. Be sure to give yourself plenty of time to put it together. I am pretty handy with stuff like this and it took me approx 4 hours to assemble! A little long but the end product was worth it.

If I purchase the 4-drawer storatge cart (20" width) and the 7 drawer storage cart (19" width) and then get the 42" desk top to go on it, I only have 3" left for my chair and legs. In the picture it shows a lot more room. How does that work?

This is my 12 piece I have purchased from Improvements Catalog over the past 2 / 3 years, for our office
This one is the old style, which I prefer.
It you go to your sample Storage Cart, you will see, the drawer does not come out all the way to remove a letter size file.
I have to leave 1 / 3 filing space to remove a file folder.
This is because you need to turn it sideways to take out the file.
.? Is there something I could do, to correct this?
