Disappointing
As another reviewer indicated, this at first looks like a promising, quality product. However, the remote unit simply doesn't lend itself to being programmed. After 20 minutes of trying, I called the manufacturer using the phone number provided in the event of questions. After hearing repeated recordings regarding the operating hours (i was calling within them) and presumably then being transferred to a human being, I just gave up. I am returning it.

Buttons don't function on the remote
I'm pretty disappointed with this product. The outlet itself seems good quality and the ON/OFF button on the remote is big and easy to use, and does a good job turning the Christmas lights on and off from inside the house. But the buttons on the remote for the timer functions are a joke! They are the tiniest little slivers of soft rubber that are hard for someone with even small fingers like me to manipulate. They are so close together that even I had a hard time isolating a "button" to activate it. After much trying, I was finally able to get the clock button to work to set the current time. But I still have not been able set the ON/OFF timer yet so that my lights turn on at the same time each day. If I can't get the timer function to work, I'm probably going to return it because otherwise it's just a remote control. That's all well and good if all you want is a remote, but I really wanted a timer. So disappointing!
